During 1969 and 1970, we at Nationwide Custom Services, Inc., published Priest Forum, which had a circulation of 30,000 Catholic priests, and was sponsored by the National Federation of Priest Councils. The publication, edited by Msgr. William F. Burke of Baltimore, Maryland, was ahead of its time. The clergy that wrote for it addressed important issues that remain important, and unaddressed, to this day – but more importantly, it addressed the community’s greater need for a voice that addressed the concerns of local parishes and dioceses, and to discuss the ways that clergy might better serve and be served in changing times. For the first time in over forty years, we at Nationwide Custom Services, Inc. have been able to make Priest Forum available to you here. You may also know us for our Custombook™ Editions; we published well over a thousand social history books parishes, often connected with parish anniversaries or dedications. The entire collection will soon be preserved by the Library of Congress; many of these books have been digitized, and are being linked to their parish’s website. We welcome your comments on “Priest Forum”, and if you are interested in a digital copy of your parish’s history, don’t hesitate to contact us.
